Apple’s iMovie program makes posting a video to YouTube easier than it has ever been.

YouTube requires a certain type of file and a certain file size. If your video does not meet those required specifications it very likely will not play properly, if it even plays at all.

iMovie takes the headache out of converting your video. Included in the program’s menu is an easy way to have your movie converted to the very format YouTube requires(as well as various other formats).

First thing you will need is a YouTube account. If you don’t have an account, and are a gmail user, you can use your gmail username and password as your YouTube login. If you do not use gmail, then simply go to YouTube’s site and register.

If you’ve been using iMovie to edit your video, then you already have your movie ready to go.

But maybe you just shot the video with your camera, and it is on your desktop.

You will start by importing the video by clicking on the file menu on the top left of your screen, then clicking import.

Choose your video.

Then, look for the “share” menu.

Then click YouTube, and fill in your account information, and choose your desired video size.

Once this is done, press next, then agree to the terms of service, hit publish, and your all set!
